Two celebrated painters have had their latest exhibition opened at an art gallery in the south of the island.
David Byrne and Nancy Corkish opened their latest display, entitled ’New Paintings and Holiday Memories’ at Studio 42, Port St Mary.
The latest collection by the husband-and-wife team includes 26 new pieces of art work, and a collection of unframed paintings created of their favourite places they have visited while on holiday.
Studio 42 owner Eben Carswell said: ’We are delighted to be able to show this display by two of the top water colour artists in the island today.
’Nancy and David are true stalwarts of the Manx art scene. David has been painting since 1956, and Nancy started in 1960, learning from, amongst others, Norman Sayle.
’Since those early days, their work has grown in stature and popularity. They both capture the fleeting moments of natural beauty and the moody feel of the island’s ever-changing landscape.’
The exhibition can be seen between 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday. More details are available on Facebook.
