Fifteen-year-old Nathan Kennaugh has raised more than £1,500 in memory of his judo coach Richard Lloyd after cycling non-stop around the NSC for 24 hours.

The teenager pedalled an impressive 427 laps around the complex’s perimeter road over the weekend, the equivalent of 213 miles, to raise funds for the Isle of Man Judo squad and the Police Benevolent Fund.

The challenge was in memory of the Douglas teen’s former coach Mr Lloyd who was one of the 24 people in the island to have lost their battle with coronavirus.

The 57-year-old was the second person to lose their life to the virus at Noble’s Hospital on April 11.

Mr Lloyd had served as a police officer for 30 years, both in Merseyside and the Isle of Man.

Nathan had initially set out to raise £1,000 but has now surpassed this target. You can donate on Nathan’s fundraising page by searching: https://uk.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-richard-lloyd
