Bushy’s has announced the new location for its TT beer tent next year will be the Villa Marina Gardens.

The brewery described the move, which is subject to obtaining a licence, as a ’golden opportunity’.

Douglas Council announced in July that after 20 years Bushy’s would not run the TT beer tent at the Bottleneck car park next year and the contract for the next five years has instead been awarded to the Hooded Ram.

Bushy’s said it has secured the Villa Marina Gardens site after a ’frenetic period of site recce and lengthy discussions’ and ’careful consideration of several potential sites around the capital’.

Rob Callister MHK, member for the Department of Economic Development, said: ‘We have been working with Bushy’s regarding their plans to hire the Villa Marina Gardens for TT 2018 which they have now secured.

’The Bushy’s proposal is an exciting one and we are looking forward to seeing how the project takes shape over coming months.’
