Although the store has been open for a few months, they have been carrying out some minor work inside and outside the shop so they wanted to wait for their official opening day.

The charity said they were ’thrilled’ that they could finally mark the occasion.

The charity’s chief executive, Jackie Betteridge, said: ’We were delighted to officially open the new Crossroads Home Interiors Store last week, and it was a pleasure to welcome Chief Minister Alfred Cannan MHK for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

’The newly relocated store will provide a much improved environment for our shop and our staff and volunteers so it was wonderful to finally open its doors.

’The open afternoon was a great success and it was brilliant to welcome past customers and some new faces, so I would like to thank everyone for their support in attending.

’I would also like to thank our brilliant staff and volunteers for creating such a wonderful occasion for the public.’
