Local high-octane rock and roll punks Mad Daddy are putting their time away from gigging to good use and have released a new three-track EP.
Simply titled ’EP#3’, the three-track release, featuring the songs ’Give It To Me’, ’Just You Wait (And See)’ and ’Some Fun’, originally started out as the final part of a trilogy of EPs, which would have been combined to make an entire album.
However a major shake up to the band’s membership meant that the EP has marked a new chapter in the band’s history.
Original drummer Simon Morris and harmonica player Fergus Hook quit the band, which led singer Dolyn Clucas-Morris and bassist Elvis Palooka to ask replacement drummer Matt Twist to stand in for the recording of the EP.
’I thought Matt added a great energy, so I asked him to join,’ said Dolyn.
’Also, I’d fancied doing a bit of blues harp for a while so I moved on to that.
’We then got Liam Callow in on guitar, which freed me up to be a bit of a front man.
’We redid some parts to get everyone on the record.
’We still plan to do full album with the new line-up when things loosen up a bit.’
The group were forced to cancel plans to perform in the UK, alongside local dates with visiting groups, due to the restrictions.
The EP is available from the Mad Daddy Bandcamp page, priced £3.
