A new home may have been found for the Christmas lights switch-on, just a month after it looked like the popular family event could be axed.
We reported in January that Douglas Council feared the event may not be allowed to continue for health and safety reasons.
Councillors had been told in January that the government body that oversees public events had indicated it would not support a repeat of previous years’ events, held in front of the town hall.
The proposed new home for the event is on the North Quay at the end of Ridgeway Street.
