Infrastructure Minister Tim Baker has pledged a review of scheduled roadworks in Malew Street, Castletown.
It comes in response to concerns raised by Jason Moorhouse (Arbory, Castletown and Malew), who tabled written Tynwald questions this week.
Mr Baker (pictured) acknowledged concerns about flooding in the street had been raised a number of times, most recently in June and July.
He added: ’The Department (of Infrastructure) is aware of the issues in this location and is undertaking a joint review with Manx Utilities.
’A meeting is scheduled to review the site following initial survey work.’
He added: ’Patching work was carried out because of the poor state of the carriageway which the department has a duty to maintain.
’This is more efficient and poses less risk to road users than reactive works.’
Such ’day-to-day’ maintenance did not require consultation with MU, he said.
