A night of activities will lead to the illumination of Onchan tonight, Wednesday.

Onchan Park will host ’A Night of Light’ from 5.30pm.

The main Christmas lights switch on will take place at 6pm followed by a outdoor carol service.

The evening will also see various performances from groups such as the Roc Vannin choir, who will sing prior to the lights being switched on.

This be followed by and a firework display at 7.15pm.

The Platform theatre group will also perform and Mae Challis will be on stage from 7.30pm.

There will also be children’s activities and games, available throughout, plus a Santa’s grotto.

l The strong winds at the weekend forced Peel Commissioners to reschedule its Christmas market and lights switch on to this coming Saturday, December 4.

In addition to the market, there will be entertainment throughout the day with lights switch on at 5pm.
