The island has reached seven days without any new positive cases of coronavirus being confirmed.

Health Minister David Ashford announced at today’s (Wednesday) press briefing that the total of confirmed positive cases remains at 336.

The minister called it ’great news’ but added that Covid-19 must still present in the island as last week’s new case had no connection to others.

’It’s not immaculate contagion,’ he said.

The total of tests undertaken is 4,669 with 4,648 of which having been returned. This means 21 tests are awaiting results.

There are currently six active cases of coronavirus in the Isle of Man.

It was confirmed yesterday at 4pm that two people were receiving care in hospital from Covid-19 with the number of deaths being 18 in the community and six in the hospital.
