Billed as ’not your average business event’, ISLEXPO has become one of the landmark occasions in the island’s calendar.

Part conference, part motivational gathering, part networking social, it’s a unique event that celebrates the dynamic, entrepreneurial spirit of the Isle of Man.

The day began for some with breakfast yoga and mindfulness before the sunshine brought out the festival atmosphere in the Villa Marina gardens where local food and drink producers laid out their tasty products.

Inside the Royal Hall keynote speakers included Dan Germain of Innocent drinks, futurist Thimon De Jong and Howard Quayle, whilst a new feature at ISLEXPO 2018, the Futurist Floor, brought together the island’s business leaders, entrepreneurs and industry experts for a series of stimulating round table discussions on the future of our economy.

Another exciting feature, Pitch It!, invited six finalists to go head to head to present their business ideas. The winner was chosen by the audience who voted for their favourite idea using the ISLEXPO event app.

Flux, an innovative, ideas-based group of young people who are developing cutting-edge technology to revolutionise wireless charging, were crowned the winners.

Prizes included a business mentorship from Bridge Angel Network, £1,000 cash and two months free membership to Barclays Eagle Lab, a new co-working space, in Douglas.
