The number of people registered unemployed has decreased since last month, according to a labour market report.

Compiled and published by the Economic Affairs team at the Cabinet Office, the report shows the number of people registered unemployed was 365 in September a reduction of 30 compared with the previous month.

The number of registered unemployed decreased by 520 compared with September 2020 and the unemployment rate for September 2021 stood at 0.9%, the same as August 2021.

Approximately 1,218 job vacancies were notified to the JobCentre in September, an increase of 123 compared to August of this year.

At the end of the month, 847 remained.

Of these, 55%, or 469, were full time positions and 45%, or 378, were part-time.

It is estimated by the labour market report that 810 individuals are unemployed and looking for work in September, 2021.

This amounts to an unemployment rate of 1.9%.

The number of males unemployed in September of this year, with 236, is almost double the number of females, at 129.

This is not uncommon as one month prior and one year before there also were stark differences.
