A bid by Ellan Vannin Fuels to operate an off-licence at its service station in Lezayre Road, Ramsey, does not have the support of the town’s commissioners.

The board objects on the basis that there is already adequate provision of off-licences in the town.

But the commissioners don’t decide who can get an off-licence. That’s up to the licensing courts.
