An oil siren is set to be tested in Douglas on Thursday afternoon.

The Department of Infrastructure’s Harbours Division will test the siren at the fuel berth on Battery Pier in the capital tomorrow (Thursday), August 27, at 2pm.

The siren will sound three times, with each test consisting of a short blast lasting between 15 and 20 seconds.

It is the second time recently that an emergency test has taken place in the Douglas Harbour area.

Back in July, an emergency response exercise was held at Isle of Man Energy's gas sphere site, with the operation lasting approximately 90 minutes.

The simulated incident was designed to test coordination between the different agencies involved.
