Old Mutual International is sponsoring the award for Customer Service at this year’s Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards for Excellence.
Old Mutual International is the largest life company in the Isle of Man, and with over 500 staff it is one of the biggest employers in the island’s financial services sector.
The leading cross-border provider of financial solutions for expatriate investors around the world has an impressive record for offering excellent customer service, and for winning awards which reward employees who achieve these high standards.
Old Mutual International managing director Peter Kenny says the Awards For Excellence Customer Service Award category is one with which the company has a special affinity.
He said: ’This is the second year in succession we have sponsored this category. It’s the natural choice for us because delivering excellent customer outcomes is a core objective across the business. Our experience demonstrates that when you keep this objective central to everything you do, great outcomes typically follow. We look forward to the awards evening and to celebrating the achievements of the nominees and winners.’
Old Mutual International invests a great deal in rewarding employees who go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver outstanding customer service. One example is its Magic Moments programme. It is focused on listening to, and understanding, customer needs and responding with personalised gifts or other acts of kindness.
From its headquarters at King Edward Bay House, Onchan, Old Mutual International provides operational support to clients in the UK, Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Latin America and South Africa. It is part of a massive global business - Old Mutual Wealth - that oversees £127.3 bn in customer investments (as at 30 June 2017). Old Mutual Wealth is part of Old Mutual plc, a FTSE 100 group that provides life assurance, asset management, banking and general insurance that is trusted by 19.4 m (as at December 31 2016) customers and has £212.3bn of assets under management (as at June 30).
Right now, Old Mutual International is investing to raise its customer service standards even higher, and this is creating even more career opportunities for those who want to work for a strong island business with a truly global reach. Supported by investment in technology platforms and training, Old Mutual International is actively demonstrating its ongoing commitment to delivering the best customer experience.
Old Mutual International has a strong heritage in the Isle of Man, having been established here over 30 years ago. It plays a significant role in supporting the community through sponsorships, partnerships, charitable donations, and fundraising.

â?¢ This year the company sponsored the Summer Reading Challenge, produced by The Reading Agency, at the Harvey Briggs Onchan Library - it was the 12th successive year Old Mutual International has supported the challenge.
Time is running out to get your entries in for this year’s Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards for Excellence. Entries close next Wednesday, September 20, so there’s still time. If you or your business, charity or public sector team have done something you are really proud of this year then the awards are a great place to showcase your achievements.
There are 16 award categories including Teamwork, Volunteer of the Year, Digital Champion, Workplace Wellbeing and New Business/Innovation.
If you become one of the three finalists in each category you will be invited to attend the glittering awards night ceremony at the Villa Marina on Thursday, November 16.
It is being compered by comedian and author Miles Jupp but all the finalists will be centre stage, too, with photos in the progamme and up on screen as the event opens. If you want to get your name out there, in front of an audience crammed with some of the island’s biggest corporate names, it’s definitely the place to be.
