Elizabeth Ingrouille had never had more than a trim but has now donated most of her hair to charity.
The Onchan School pupil, aged eight, has, at the time of writing, raised £1,217 after intially targetting £500.
The Little Princess Trust make and give free wigs to children who have lost their hair through medical illness or treatment.
Elizabeth said all she wanted to do was ’help children who are in need’.
Her parents Rebecca and Steve, who are both reverends in the village’s Methodist church, said: ’We are immensely proud of her generosity.’
