More than £10m of supercars are to gather in the island.

On the afternoon of May 24, cars made by Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and other marques will gather in Ramsey to help raise money for Mannin Cancers.

The first weekend of TT practice has traditionally seen a large number of supercar owners visit the island for a short visit, to see the spectacle of road racing, as well as enjoy touring the island and its roads.

More than 40 supercars from the S9S.co.uk forum and locally-owned cars will be at the event.

Mannin Cancers is a new charity set up to raise money to improve diagnostic cancer equipment in the Isle of Man.

Working alongside Manx Breast Cancer Support Group, the two charities are jointly trying to raise £1.5 million pounds to improve the diagnostic suite and supply a spectral scanner at Noble’s Hospital.

Carole Male from MBCSG and Mannin Cancers said: ’We often see these cars around on our roads, but it is rare to get this many parked up in one place, where the public can help us to raise money, see these incredible machines up close, and speak to their owners about what it is really like to own something that special.;

Henry Sage from S9S said: ’This is the 11th year S9S has visited the island and, as well as regular returners, each year sees more of our members joining the tour, after hearing how beautiful and brilliant this place is.

’I loved it so much I made it my home, and it is a real privilege to give something back. We are all making a significant contribution to the charity, and I hope that people will be encouraged to do the same.’

The cars will be available to visit in Mooragh Park from 1pm to 3pm.

From there, they will parade across the Mountain Road on the first one-way run, directly behind the opening police vehicle.
