Who says kids have all the fun?

There is to be a disco aimed firmly at the over 30s tonight at Amber bar on Douglas Promenade.

’BOOKED!’ has been organised by the Family Library, and will feature Manx music producer and DJ Gypo Buggane, playing songs from the 70s, 80, and 90s.

The BOOKED! event has been organised by a supporter of the library, Stephanie Kelsey, who runs French lessons for children in the Family Library on Saturdays.

’We love the Family Library and so I wanted to try to help,’ she said.

’The idea of having an event for over-30s came about because whenever my friends and I fancy a bit of a dance on a night out, we always end up feeling old because most of the nightclubs in Douglas are full of young people!

’Hopefully lots of the people who come to BOOKED! will see people they know there, so the whole thing will have a friendly feel, just like the Family Library itself!’

’We are incredibly lucky that Gyp has agreed to DJ at BOOKED! for free,’ said Stephanie. ’He’s a big fan of the Family Library too which is why he’s keen to be involved. Having a DJ of his calibre guarantees that it’s going to be a fantastic night!’

Tickets are £10, are on sale at Noa Bakehouse, Bridge Bookshops Port Erin and Ramsey or from the Family Library itself. They will not be available on the door on the night.
