The Met Office has issued a yellow warning overnight into tomorrow morning.

Beginning at 5pm, the warning is for ice as temperatures continue to fall as we march towards December.

The Met Office said there is potential for island wide impact, however the areas most at risk will be higher ground, valleys and areas sheltered by east-southeasterly winds. The yellow warning remains in place until 6am tomorrow morning.

And the forecast for overnight is clear skies and light north-easterly winds meaning road surface temperatures are likely to fall close to or slightly below freezing in places, as air temperatures lower to around two or three Celsius for a time this evening.

This will result in a slight risk of ice forming on any untreated, damp surfaces during this period this evening. However as winds freshen an east-southeasterly breeze overnight will see temperatures recover slightly.
