Mountain bikers braved wet and windy conditions to ’Paint the Plantation Pink’.

The event on Saturday saw women - taking part as individuals and in teams - see how many laps of a 2.7-mile course at Archallagan plantation they could complete within the time limit.

Rachael Looker completed the most laps - 14 - and also the fastest lap, in a time of 17 minutes 18 seconds.

Wendy Sandford, Judy Bullough, Christine O’Shea and Tanya Sanderson of SMP Partners won the team prize after completing 19 laps.

The mother and daughter trophy was claimed by Lisa and Ellie Johnson.

They completed their planned five laps despite three flat tyres and a buckled gear mechanism.

Three riders took part on e-bikes. Rachel Tobias completed 12 laps.

The event also saw a fancy dress lap, which was won jointly by Sarah Pitts and Ali Hooper.

And the last lap of the day ’One for the boys’ saw men take part. Johnny Galbraith won the prize for the lap.

Proceeds from the event will be divided between Manx Breast Cancer Support Group, Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.
