The Isle of Man Victorian Society’s next lecture will be given by Peter Kelly.
His subject is The Story of the Howstrake Holiday Camp at Onchan.
It was the first commercial holiday camp in the British Isles, and set up by Joseph Cunningham who went on to run the largest holiday camp in the world.
The illustrated talk takes place in the Barbara Cottier Centre at St Ninian’s School on Friday, April 28, starting at 8pm.
Non-members are welcome to attend at a charge of £1.
The audience is requested to use the Somerset Road entrance and proceed to the car park adjoining Bray Hill.
