Police have published these photographs of an accident in the north of the island to underline a message about road safety.
Officers are currently investigating.
The driver walked away without any injuries, despite the extensive damage to the vehicle.
A police spokesman said: ’This is a timely reminder to any driver, of any age or experience, of the risks and potential outcome if you are involved in a collision.
’This driver was very lucky. He was wearing his seat belt, he wasn’t drunk or under the influence of any controlled substances.
’The next collision we attend may not have the same outcome.
’Please do not be tempted to "test the limits" of your vehicle or take any unnecessary risks.
’The slightest lapse in concentration could result in a collision. With the TT nearly upon us please take extra care on the roads particularly in de-restricted areas.’
