Seymar Developments has submitted detailed plans for a further phase of development next to the Ramsey Park Hotel, Ramsey.

It is for 23 flats contained in two six-storey buildings on a site flanked by Mooragh Promenade and Premier Road.

The accompanying planning statement asserts that the development has been carefully designed to complement the existing hotel and the apartments currently under construction.

It adds: ’The proposals have been designed to ensure each elevation adds interest and provides a positive development at this important location. This ensures a positive relationship with the promenade.’

The statement recognises that the number of parking spaces is eight less than the number required by the Strategic Plan, but refers to on-street parking on Mooragh Promenade, Premier Road and Park Road.

Ramsey commissioners considered the plans at their monthly meeting and decided not to make an issue of the parking. They will, however, express the view that ’the facade is a little bland’ and that the bin store needs to be relocated to allow movement of the refuse vehicle.
