An appeal has been lodged over a decision to reject a regeneration scheme for Peel.
Traders including Stuart Hardingham of Simpsons Superstore (pictured) celebrated after the planning committee threw out the Department of Infrastructure’s proposals for Michael Street and Atholl Place (20/00455/B).
Members of the planning committee argued it would take away the ’charm’ of the street and make it look like any modern town centre.
But now Peel Commissioners have lodged an appeal against the part of the decision relating to Atholl Place.
An independent inspector will now be appointed.
Commissioners argue the plans for Atholl Place don’t include a shared surface design and would preserve the street scene.
