Property developer Dandara has withdrawn its planning application [19/01444/B] for the construction of 26 dwellings in Foxdale.
Dandara had applied for permission to build the home on land South of the Mines Road, opposite the village’s clocktower.
The application stated that the style of the two, three and four-bedroom houses had been planned to fit closely with the mining cottages which characterise the village.
It would have also included the provision of an open public space.
Permission has previously been granted for 24 homes on the site, however when the four-year limit on the approval passed the new (now withdrawn) one for 26 dwellings was made in January last year.
The area, the southeastern part of which is used as agricultural grazing land, was allocated for residential development in the Foxdale Local Area plan.
