Company Hover Kart City has applied for planning permission (21/00810/C) to use a unit at Gladstone Park industrial estate as a hover kart track and repair shop.

Hover karts are like electric, three-wheeled go-karts.

Hover Kart City had previously operated out of a unit in Balthane industrial estate in Ballasalla, but ’with a heavy heart’ closed down there in April due to lack of customers.

Now under new ownership, it says that business is going well in Ramsey.

The tyre-lined indoor track has disco-style lighting effects, like a roller rink.

Thirty-minute sessions are £5.50 per child.
