Approval in principle has been granted for the construction of a community sport hall on land next toxt to Vollan pumping station in Mooragh Park, Ramsey.
Commissioners chairman Andy Cowie welcomed the approval saying ’the Planning Committee’s decision to grant approval in principle is excellent news’ for Ramsey.
Steven Bevan, Ramsey deputy town clerk added: ’The project has been promoted by a small community group brought together by former commissioner Richard Radcliffe.
’The approval paves the way for the establishing of a new community trust, adapting the model established by the Tommy Clucas Community Sports Hall in Peel, as the vehicle to take the project forward.’
The plans include an indoor football pitch, club level badminton courts and showers, changing rooms and other facilities.
