A new 44-room hotel may be built on the site of the old citadel building in Douglas.

The new proposed ‘Citadel hotel’ will replace the old Salvation Army building that currently occupies that space on Lord Street.

The Salvation Army building will be demolished and the new hotel would be built on top.

The application has been brought forward by Keith Lord, who owns the Mannin Hotel, which is also in Douglas.

The application in pending consideration by the planning committee.
