Ramsey-based Fairway Construction Ltd have applied for planning permission (21/00515/B) to build a residential development of seven new houses in Sulby.

The 0.32 hectare (0.79 acre) site, known as the Old Parsonage, fronts onto the A3 main road in the eastern part of Sulby, and is bordered by residential properties on one side.

The company previously received planning approval (18/00912/A) after appeal for four detached houses in 2019.

In an accompanying planning statement Fairway Construction said that after consultation with neighbouring property owners ’the general consensus is that smaller, more family orientated dwellings would be more suitable’ than the houses approved under its previous applications, and that the market also shows these would be more desirable.

In the revised planning application there would be four detached houses (with four bedrooms), two semi-detached and one terraced house (both with three bedrooms), along with a new access road.

There is only one existing building on the site, the former parsonage which the company describes as having fallen into dereliction, and is not of any particular interest.

Some trees will be retained from the site, with others added.
