We have had a number of spam messages added to the comments on our site.

Comments on our site are not pre-moderated.

Isle of Man Newspapers staff do not see any comment left on the site before it is published.Readers can report messages left on the site. Such reports will alert our staff to a complaint. At that point, we can remove the message if it is inappropriate.

If you see a spam message that you think we should take down, we’d appreciate it if you could alert us using the REPORT function on the comment itself.

That will send an automatic email to our newsdesk and we should be able to take action then to remove it.

Unfortunately, there is no means for the site to take such comments down automatically.
