The police have confirmed that a man was stabbed in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Officers had previously said that a man was hospitalised with serious injuries following the incident just after midnight on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred around the areas of Bucks Road and Hillside Avenue.
A police statement said: ‘His injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time but are serious.

‘A male has been charged with the violent offence and will appear before Douglas Court today [Thursday].’
The police also confirmed this was an isolated incident and the two individuals are known to each other.
