It was a slightly different scene at this year’s Tynwald Day with it being a low key event following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The sun was shining down on a more quiet version of the historic ceremony, which was slimmed down due to decisions made by the organisers before lockdown restrictions were lifted.

Despite things being pared back, a crowd of about 200 people turned up to mark the national day.

A giant wooden sculpture of Manannan was also on display as part of a peaceful protest which faced opposite Tynwald Hill in St John’s.

You can read more about the day in the Examiner, which is out tomorrow (Tuesday).
