Caldric Randall has been appointed as the Manx government’s new chief financial officer.

He replaces Sheila Lowe who is taking on a new role as executive director of programme management in the Cabinet Office.

Mr Randall began with the government as chief internal auditor in 2008, before progressing onto the role of financial controller, a post he held for four years.

Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan said: ’I am delighted that Caldric has been appointed as chief financial officer, following a robust recruitment process.

’I know he is committed to ensuring financial sustainability and credibility for the long term future of the island.’

Mr Cannan added: ’I would like to thank Sheila Lowe for her outstanding contribution to government and the Treasury.’

Mr Randall said his immediate priority was the presentation of the 2019 Budget this month.

He said: ’I look forward to supporting the Minister with its delivery. I am delighted and proud to have been appointed.’
