A top politician has promised the government will not become complacent over coronavirus during the winter months.
This comes as a mass vaccination programme this week began in the UK, with around 130,000 doses expected to arrive on the island in the next 10 months.
Although many restrictions have been relaxed since July, government has brought in tough measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Policy and Reform Minister Ray Harmer says the government will continue to act swiftly.
’We acted really, really quickly,’ he said.
’As you know, the Council of Ministers and all of the organisations are meeting very frequently - because we have to be incredibly flexible to continuing changes.
’And who knows what will happen in the next two to three weeks? Yes we’ve seen positive news with the vaccine but you still have the rest of the winter to go through.’
