Unemployment has fallen again.
Latest figures show the number registered out of work fell by 35 in April to 314 - that’s 93 down on the same month last year.
It is a near 15-year low.
The unemployment rate, the proportion of the economically active population registered out of work, was 0.7% at the end of April, a decrease of 0.1% from March.
A total of 106 people signed onto the unemployment register during the month, and 141 left the register.
During the month 885 job vacancies were notified to the Job Centre.
At the end of the month, 670 remained. 54% (362) were full time positions and 46% (308) were part time.
International Labour Organisation estimates put the number of individuals unemployed and looking for work at 759, compared with 794 in March 2019. This equates to an unemployment rate of 1.8%.
Retail distribution, unskilled construction, manufacturing and medical services were the sectors with the highest numbers of unemployed, while catering, tourist accommodation and e-gaming were among the sectors with the highest numbers of vacancies.
