The Lieutenant Governor could be asked to lift the state of emergency early next week.
Sir Richard Gozney renewed the proclamation on Monday, having first invoked the Emergency Powers Act on March 16.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle told Tynwald that he had done so with the intention of the government asking him to lift it early next week, ’assuming the island continues with its splendid response to the fight against the pandemic’.
The Council of Ministers this week will aim to finalise which of the current suite of regulations would cease when the proclamation is revoked and which will still be needed and will be lifted more gradually, said Mr Quayle.
’We will aim to introduce these continuing regulations by the end of this week or early next as they must be in place before the proclamation of emergency is lifted.’
