Former MHK and MLC Tim Crookall has asked us to correct a story which appeared in the Isle of Man Examiner this week.

The paper reported that he was going to stand in the constituency of Glenfaba and Peel in September’s general election.

However, he had not announced his attention.

We are happy to clarify the situation and apologise for any confusion.

Mr Crookall represented Peel from 2006 to 2015, when he was elected to the Legislative Council.

When he decided not to stand as MLC again in March last year, he said: ’I have come to the conclusion that as I am contemplating standing at the 2021 General Election for Glenfaba and Peel It would be right to stand back now from seeking re-election to the Legislative Council.’

Mr Crookall says he will announce his intention at the weekend.

Sitting member Ray Harmer and Kate Lord-Brennan MLC have announced they are to stand in the constituency.
