The post box in the Sea Terminal has been redecorated with the colours of the Pride flag.

In support of the first Isle of Pride this weekend and the LGBTQ+ community, Isle of Man Post Office (IoMPO) has temporarily redecorated the box.

To mark the island’s first Pride festival on Saturday, 5,000 postcards will be printed by IoMPO’s sponsorship committee and distributed during the festival.

Dawn Kinnish, a director and trustee of Isle of Pride, said: ’We are delighted that the Post Office has shown its commitment to inclusion and partnered with Isle of Pride.

’It presents an opportunity to pay tribute to those who bravely went before and campaigned to change attitudes to bring us to where we are and for everyone, regardless of difference, to celebrate and be proud of who they are.’

Gemma Woodford, human resources officer at IoMPO, added: ’Isle of Man Post Office is proud to be an equal opportunities employer with strong values reflecting our pledge to treat each other with fairness and respect embracing diversity and inclusivity.’
