The Primestock Show was reportedly an excellent evening at the meat plant, Tromode, hosted by Isle of Man Meats.

A delicious supper was provided by Chef Maciej, and all the teaym at the meat plant worked really hard, it was a great showcase night for Manx Produce.

The organisers were delighted to welcome the Governor Sir John Lorimer and Lady Lorimer, to both the Monday and Thursday shows, who along with Minister Barber, Jennie Wheeler, Nigel Davies and Scott Gallacher, enjoyed the evenings proceedings, showing their support for the Primestock Show and the Agricultural Industry.

We reported the results of the Monday show last week, which judged animals. Thursday’s show was dedicated to meat.

The Championship Trophy, the British Beef Challenge Trophy and the Champion Limousin award all went to The Kinvig Family, producing top quality stock from their farm in Ronague.

Well-known exhibitors and last year’s top prize winners, the Quirk family from Cronk y Voddy were again in the awards taking Reserve Champion.

A lot of hard work goes into producing top quality animals and all the judges were very impressed with the finish on the Kinvigs’ and the Quirks’ animals.

Sarah Kewley took the championship prize in the lambs with the Beltex cross breds standing out for the judges on both Monday and Thursday night. The Kermode family from Orrisdale Farm took the reserve champion along with the champion single lamb carcass.
