A reception has been held for the winners of Douglas Council’s best guy competition.

The competition formed part of the council’s fireworks display.

A reception was hosted by Mayor Jon Joughin at Douglas town hall to present prizes and certificates to first place winner Molly Jones, 10; runner-up Robin Cowin, seven; and joint third place winners, sisters Lorelei and Tallulah Wilson, four and six respectively.

Mr Joughin said: ’This event always creates a strong sense of community and brings large numbers of people to the town to the benefit of many local businesses. The standard of the display this year was truly exceptional.’

Molly Jones said that she would be saving half of her prize money and sharing the rest with her brother; Robin Jones was planning to spend his winnings on Lego, while Lorelei and Tallulah Wilson would be adding to their collections of toys.

The fireworks display was sponsored e-gaming company Celton Manx
