Laxey Dental Surgery
Dentists Neil Gibb, Grant Hill and Colin Partington of Laxey Dental Surgery all share the same philosophy that ’Dentistry is about treating people, not just their mouths’. In recent months the surgery has undergone expansion with the introduction of a state-of-the-art decontamination room and a re-arranged reception area to create a brand-new surgery. Having had a long waiting list of patients wishing to join the practice this expansion has allowed them to take on new patients once again. Located on New Road, Laxey Dental Surgery is open from 8.30am every weekday with late appointments up to 7.30pm on Wednesdays.
The Shed
Opened in May, The Shed is the Island’s first cold-pressed juice bar with an amazing beachfront location and a buzzing vibe. Whilst their speciality is fresh cold-pressed vegetable and fruit juices (its sister company is Creative Juices), they also offer a range of artisan food and drink creations, including fresh barista coffee, homemade cakes and regular weekend specials. Owner Bev Clegg says: ’We’ve loved providing something different on the Isle of Man, something quirky that also reflects our commitment to support local food and drink producers.’
Open all year round, there’s a cosy atmosphere under the outdoor shelter with blankets to keep off the chill and a ’doggie station’ for four-legged guests.
Fairy Cottage Filling Station
The Fairy Cottage Filling Station has been a distinctive part of Laxey Village for more than 50 years and is renowned for its outstanding level of personal service as well as consistently offering the lowest pump prices for diesel on the island. The only remaining independent filling station, with a fully-serviced forecourt, it also supplies home heating oil and oil storage tanks along with a range of household fuels including coal and logs. Customers can benefit from discounted bulk delivery schemes and for those unable to store large quantities, smaller deliveries and monthly payments are available to help spread the cost.

The Laxey Pavilion
The Laxey Pavilion in Laxey Glen Gardens is the perfect setting for weddings, special occasions and birthday parties as well as corporate development days, community fundraisers and craft fayres. Suitable for large or more intimate gatherings, the beauty of this light and airy space is truly versatile and is only limited by your imagination. Function room space is available to hire from two- hour session blocks and a number of community classes are hosted throughout the week including yoga, Pilates and drama classes.
Discounts are offered to Manx registered charities and new community group bookings and events are always welcome.
Laxey Opticians
Laxey Opticians, in the heart of the village by the tram station, is definitely a sight for sore eyes. Run by qualified optometrist Paul Summers since 2004, it offers private and NHS eye examinations as well as colour vision testing for children and adults. Paul’s in-depth colorimetry service can be particularly useful for those suffering from visual stress or visual dyslexia and can identify the optimum tint for glasses that can help make reading easier. Ballacregga Corn Mill and The Salmon Lake Centre
