Douglas ratepayers are forking out £21,500 for a replacement golf course trailing mower. The mower is needed to replace the current machinery which in its current condition is said to have a ’likelihood of increased downtime and disruption to the front line service’ at the council owned course. Due to the nature and model of the equipment required, councillors agreed to invoke standing order 146 which means it will not be a tendered purchase.
