Pupils will learn more about global issues at an event on April 28.
Laxey and Dhoon schools, which have the same headteacher, will hold their second annual ’Bright Futures’ conference.
This year, delegates from all northern schools, including Ramsey Grammar School, have been invited.
They will be learning from speakers, taking part in workshops and even experience being able to debate global issues in Tynwald.
The Bright Futures conference will be considering a wide range of ’green economy’ issues including the Isle of Man’s current position with respect to the UN Sustainable Development Goals; pollution indicators; the environmental impact of waste on our wildlife and the truth behind the label ’biodegradable’.
Speakers include Martyn Perkins MHK, Bill Dale (Beach Buddies), Rowan Henthorn of the Department of the Environment, Food and Agriuculture.
The workshops will be run by the Manx Wildlife Trust, Ramsey High School staff and Laxey and Dhoon teachers.
