The money raised at performances by The Purple Helmets during the TT has been handed over to two charities.

Hospice Isle of Man and Cystic Fibrosis Isle of Man each received £1,500 after what they described as ’a wonderful TT’.

The Helmets provided a number of displays on Douglas Promenade, in conjunction with The Hooded Ram, and were, as always, well received by the big crowds who showed great generosity with a bucket collection each night. An additional £700 was also raised which has been donated to Cystic Fibrosis.

A spokesman said: ’We would like to thank our fans and the Hooded Ram for their great support.’
