The Steam Packet’s Ben-my-Chree service from Douglas to Heysham this morning is sailing.
The ferry company had warned that it might not because of windy weather.
But this evening’s sailing could be cancelled or disrupted.
The weather forecast from the Met Office:
Cloudy and quite windy today, with a little patchy rain possible. The southwest winds will remain strong all day, occasionally gale force in a few places with gusts 45 to 50 mph. Maximum temperature 9 Celsius.
Tonight a few outbreaks of rain are likely, as the strong to gale force winds swing more westerly. Then tomorrow will be largely dry and bright with only isolated showers, but with the strong westerly winds continuing.
Less windy on Sunday, with outbreaks of rain at first giving way to bright conditions by the afternoon.
