The Met Office forecast for Monday: ‘Wet at first today with persistent outbreaks of rain which will turn lighter and patchier towards midday, but with the continuing threat of some rain and drizzle this afternoon.

‘Temperatures reaching up to 11°C at best in a moderate to fresh south-easterly wind.

‘Rain and drizzle is still likely at times this evening and tonight, but it will be a mild night with minimum temperature no lower than 8°C as the moderate wind turns to the south or southwest.’
