The Met Office forecast for today (Thursday): ‘A cloudy start today, with the cloud thickening throughout this morning allowing the potential for a few spots of light rain at times, particularly early this afternoon, then clearing later with some sunny spells to end the day.

‘The moderate south or southwest wind will strengthen this morning and then turn northwest later this afternoon or early evening as the rain clears.

‘Temperatures up to 17 or 18 Celsius but turning much cooler by evening.’
