Ramsey Town Commissioners chairman, Andy Cowie, has been visiting some of the businesses on his patch during the busy run up to Christmas.

Mr Cowie said: ’I was delighted to visit some of the new or expanding retail businesses in Ramsey who have helped to add to the town’s rich retail offering.

’I was very pleased to visit Serendipity and Natural Beauty & Accessories in St Paul’s Square who have recently opened business to welcome them to Ramsey on behalf of the Commissioners.

’It was a pleasure to visit Ramsey Art Gallery and congratulate them on celebrating 30 years of trading as a popular family business in the town.

’I was also able to see first-hand the investment which The Ramsey Park Hotel, Dave’s Delicious Diner and the Cooil Bar have made during recent refurbishment works, which have added to Ramsey’s appeal in the hospitality sector and shows the confidence that the owners have displayed in the town and its thriving evening entertainment.

’Pure Inspiration were still celebrating after being awarded the "Best in store and window" display at the Greats Gift Retailer Awards 2019.

’It was also an opportunity to call into the Isle of Man Farmers Market to congratulate them on the success they have enjoyed in the Court house and to thank them for adding to the town’s appeal on busy Saturdays. The farmers market takes place at Ramsey Courthouse between 10am and 2pm most Saturdays and has proved extremely popular with the broad range of Manx products on display.

’It is fantastic to see Ramsey flourishing, particularly in the busy run up to Christmas and in the face of discouraging news from the high street in many areas of the UK.

’Ramsey is very much the home of independent retail with plenty of free parking provision and easy access to the centre of our town.

’This combination is providing great benefits for our visitors, residents and businesses alike and I look forward to continued growth in the vibrant and interesting town centre.’
