The Christmas countdown will officially begin in Ramsey this Saturday when the town’s festive lights are switched on.
The town will be lit up at 4.45pm with entertainment provided by the Ramsey Town Band, Roc Vannin choir and Manx pipers, Skirl.
Santa will make an appearance from midday to 4pm at St Paul’s Hall where refreshments will be available.
His visit is part of the Autism Initiatives annual Christmas fair which will see its usual giant raffle with prizes from local companies and more stalls in the hall this year including SoundCheck, Beyond Beauty and The Manx Disabled Workshops.
Additional meeting sessions with Santa for children with autism can be booked before the fair opens between 10am and midday. Contact Billie Hall on 814801 or 355425 to arrange a slot.
Proceeds will go towards additional sensory equipment for the those who access Autism Initiatives.
The following day (Sunday), a festive celebration of the town’s heritage takes place, aimed at showcasing the best of what local businesses have to offer.
It includes a Christmas market in St Paul’s Square from 10am to 4pm.
From midday to 5pm the Ramsey Courthouse will also host craft stalls and a bauble display competition.
