Ramsey Horticultural Society has held its spring show at the Waterloo Road Methodist Hall.

Sandra Miller, secretary, said: ’Despite the weather doing its best to thwart us there was a good show of daffodils and spring bulbs with categories for the longest stem, largest trumpet and multi-heads.’

She added that local schoolchildren also turned out an impressive array of handwriting exhibits, most of which were illustrated too and the Ramsey Methodist pre-schoolers made a spring collage.

There was a First World War theme, with some ’excellent’ entries into the floral art section.

The supreme award for best exhibit in the show went to Olivia Watling for her hard work on a papier-mache Easter egg.

The committee thanked everyone for entering and reminded them that the summer show will be held in September.
