Voice of the People is inviting Ramsey residents to have their say on the future of the Isle of Man at a public meeting on Wednesday.
The non-political group has been holding meetings around the island throughout the summer, asking residents to share their priorities, concerns and ideas ahead of the General Election.
Its latest meeting will take place at St Paul’s Church Hall in Ramsey from 7pm.
Organisers say the aim is not to produce a political manifesto or propose policies, but to create a record of what islanders themselves believe should be addressed.
Topics raised during previous meetings have included healthcare, housing, education, energy, tourism, immigration and government.
The initiative has been organised by Lulu Gillow, Janet Bridle and Nigel Comely, with more than 100 people attending previous meetings in Port St Mary and Peel, according to the group’s website.
Views gathered from the meetings will be collated into a final document setting out the issues and ideas raised by residents.
The group intends to publish the document on September 24, coinciding with the General Election, and present the findings to politicians.
Voice of the People says the project is designed to give islanders an opportunity to be heard on issues affecting their everyday lives and the future direction of the Isle of Man.
On its website, the group describes itself as: ‘A permanent public record of the concerns, views and ideas of Isle of Man residents - created so the wishes of the people are heard in Tynwald.’
Organisers are now encouraging people from Ramsey and the surrounding area to attend Wednesday’s meeting and contribute their views.
